I met Ather couple days after they had arrived from their Wedding in Bahrain. He mentioned he was going to be having a Wedding Reception in Canada and invite all of his family, relatives & friends.
This is how the conversation went down:
Ather: Asaf, we are having our Wedding Reception soon and I have already shown Tabinda your work.
Me: okay, so wassup
Ather: Well I have already mentioned to her that you will be capturing the reception for us, no questions asked.
Me: Umm..and what did she say?
Ather: Nothing, i didn’t let her haha!
I had the pleasure of capturing Tabinda & Ather’s Wedding Reception, which took place at Chandni Gateway. The evening started with the guests arriving and being seated. The Groom was being dressed by his best man, while the bride was getting ready at home. They entered the hall shortly after followed by their family and relatives. During dinner, while everyone was filling themselves up, instead of letting the couple enjoy the butter chicken and biryani, I stole them to take some pictures outside at the gazebo.
Even though I’m posing shots; they had a totally candid feel to themselves and that is exactly what I loved about Tabinda & Ather.
I could tell Tabinda & Ather were having a hard time smiling at the camera while the guests gathered up on stage to get their pictures taken with this wonderful couple. All couples have to do it (smile), you cant get away from it and you cant even complain to anyone else other than each other.
During the dances, we all saw Ather undress his outfit (not all the way, but close) and join the dancing team to perform for his beloved wife. She was surprised, but knew that only Ather would pull off such an act (dancing at his own wedding reception and that too was rehearsed).
Thank you Tabinda & Ather for letting me capture your timeless memories.
